First Day of My Degree

Today we had an introduction to the course and were separated into groups by a colour which was going to represent the theme of our mini project. I was given BLACK and was told we had to create 2x A2 collaged moodboards, collecting images from online research, magazines, books and own photos. One moodboard is to be titled ‘Love It’ filled with positive interpretations of the colour, with elements of culture, history and social represented. To discover who and what is celebrating the colour, to gather what I feel is exciting, unique and innovative.

The other moodboard however is to be titled ‘Over It’ and basically be filled with the opposite of whats on ‘Love It’. Negative connotations, gather what I feel is cliché, lazy, repetitive, tacky and weak.

I started jotting down words that initially came to my mind when I thought of BLACK:

-little black dress, goth, dark, rebellious, edgy, rock, smart, expensive, powerful, mourning, authority, uniform, statement, intimidating, captivating.
